I'm going to sum up this video in one sentence.
"Jam a mic right in front of the amp and add reverb."
For 'quiet' recordings, you should really be using a Champ, Valve Junior, or similar, and placing the mic a little farther away. I go for a few inches, which gives just enough room noise to make any reverb I add sound more natural. POSTED: 04/27/2009 - 07:38 pm / quote |
Beginner Bass :
"Hey dude, look at this. I've found my new guitar tone. It's called the 'Dip your amp in a pool of water, whack it with a sledgehammer, apply a machete, put it in your closet, set it on fire, take out the speaker and put a set of earbuds instead, repeat 10 times, then play and mic it from the other side of your closet door, and put the process on a page of bass lesson videos' tone. Pretty cool, right?"
That's about what he would probably say to his friend about it. POSTED: 05/28/2009 - 07:28 pm / quote |
