While Brad Gillis might be most famous for the hits he churned out in Night Ranger (“Sister Christian,” “When You Close Your Eyes,” and “You Can Still Rock In America”), the seasoned guitarist has also earned respect among his musician peers as being an innovative shredder.
Gillis is perhaps most well-known for his creative use of the tremolo, which he utilizes quite often on Night Ranger’s latest album Hole In The Sun.
When UG.TV caught up with Gillis this summer at Rocklahoma, the album had just been released and Gillis was quite enthusiastic about his band’s upcoming events.
That was cool. Brad's a great guitarist a good songwriter.
I found it weird how little he connected with Amy though, it looked like a really awkward interview. Brad wasn't making eye contact with her at all and Amy looked kinda freaked out, haha.
I saw Night Ranger in a small Texas club in '82 or '83 outside FT Hood, when they were on top. Brad is one of the many extraordinary guitarists that never get due recognition. They gave us GI's a show between major gigs, and we raised the roof. Looks different without the hair though. Keep it up 'ol man!
